EmergentBiome is a molecular atlas of evidence about methane, nitrous oxide and sulfur cycling in blue-carbon sediments. It joins genes and transcripts from deposited genome records, including a freshwater wetland (Old Woman Creek) and coastal mudflats, to the sample and depth they came from and to the field measurements that could test them. The atlas page names no organisation or person; its contact addresses are at Ecosphere Blue, a company whose MethaNet product for blue-carbon project assessment is stated to be built on EmergentBiome.

Its purpose is to say what a gene can and cannot show and which field test would settle a question. The output is described as an evidence-readiness dossier, not a credit or a tonnage estimate; detection shows presence, not how active a pathway is, and flux estimates need paired field validation. Under the hood is a Molecular Verification Ontology (version 0.2.0) in RDF, OWL and SHACL, with eighteen fixed review queries, and a sampling design of 144 sample-events across 36 plots.

The public atlas shows three curated cases with an evidence explorer and a full report; the internal model holds evidence for 145 genome records. No licence or terms of use are stated.

Status: research. The page dates its snapshots to August and September 2026 and says the internal model has not had independent scientific review; Ecosphere Blue's own site is marked coming soon.
